An exerting trek up a local landmark is a rewarding physical and visual experience. Spencers Butte is easily recognizable from many vantage points around Eugene. Spencers Butte, with an elevation of approximately 2,050 feet, is an excellent hike with 360° views of the Willamette Valley and even the Three Sisters on a clear day.
The hike has two alternate routes beginning at the trailhead near the parking lot on the western side of "The Butte". The trail to the left is the quick way to the top (about 1 mile) and is also more difficult. The more common route is the larger trail on the right. This route is about 1.5 miles.
